What is soda ash or sodium hydroxide?

Perak caustic soda or perak sodium hydroxide are thin white sheets that absorb moisture and have the ability to dissolve in water. This substance is obtained from the evaporation of liquid caustic soda, which itself is produced through membrane technology.

Sodium hydroxide is an inorganic chemical compound with the chemical formula NaOH, which is also called caustic, baking soda, and caustic soda. This white substance is composed of Na+ and OH- ions. The solubility of sodium hydroxide in water is high, and under normal conditions, it absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide from the air. Contact of pure sodium hydroxide with human skin causes chemical burns.

Caustic soda in water treatment

In the water treatment industry, adjusting the pH of water is one of the things that is very important, and there are many chemicals that are used to increase or decrease the pH and adjust it in the desired range. Caustic is a highly ionized strong alkaline substance that has a high pH and is generally used in water purification to increase the pH.
In the desalination machine, in order to increase the ability to remove substances such as carbon dioxide (CO2), soda perak is injected into the water entering the machine. Also, the water coming out of the desalination device is generally acidic and in many industrial applications, to prevent corrosion, the pH of the water is adjusted by caustic injection before use.
In industrial deionizer systems that use cationic and anionic resin columns, caustic soda solution is used to regenerate anionic resin.
In ultrafiltration water purification systems, soda ash solution is used to perform chemical cleaning of the ultrafiltration module and remove organic deposits on the membrane surface.
