Principle of performance
The rotameter works based on the principle of balance of the forces acting on the float. The fluid enters the conical tube and as the fluid flow increases, the lifting force on the float increases and the float moves higher. When the force of the weight of the float is equal to the force of the fluid, the float remains in a fixed position and indicates the flow of the fluid. The position of the float in the conical tube is directly used as an indicator of the fluid flow rate.
